life life

i think i bit off more than i could chew this semester : it's only the second week of school and i'm already behind on reading; o-chem and molecular biology take a lot of concentration. i'm going to texas this weekend for h's friend's wedding so that should be interesting. tomorrow i have to go take a tb test so i can volunteer at the hospital. on a happier note, we got lots of new people for fencing, but administrating is a pain in the ass. a fencer from the UK came to visit LA with one of his friends, and they're staying with some of our fencers; yesterday lark (one of the people with whom they are staying) decided to throw a party in their honor, kind of last minutedly. everyone was supposed to go as a character from a movie so i went as alex from a clockwork orange and it was pretty cool....lark convinced the UK fencer to crossdress as britney spears in "crossroads," complete with large perky boobs and bared midriff. dude, she had the coolest belt--the buckle was one of those LED display things that can be programmed to display messages.

back in dirty, sad LA

so school started today, and i can already tell the semester will suck. i bought $500+ dollars of textbooks, and i still haven't bought two books i need, which are both ~$150 each because i just couldn't handle the pain. LA is dirty, as usual. so our fourth roommate from last year, who moved out in june, was the last one out of the apartment and she didn't clean out the refrigerator before she left, and the power was turned off for 3 months. so, when we got back... it's really indescribable. my roommate, who got back first, opened the non-freezer part of the fridge and immediately shut it because it smelled really, really, really bad--like bad enough to make you gag. so h and i get in thursday and chyan's like 'don't open the fridge'. during the day when the other people are out, h and i decide to start cleaning the fridge out, so we open the bottom part. it smells like hell but we were like, ok, that wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, because it was empty. then we opened the freezer. you could almost SEE the fumes. they were SO GROSS that it just... ugh, like really, really sour plus rotten meat... you kinda had to be there. once we get over the smell we realize that kimanh (the fourth roommate who moved out after we went home for summer) had neglected to throw out a package of bacon, which had sat in a fridge with no electricity for three months. it was dripping, but that wasn't the worst part. the worst part was the fact that all the inside surfaces of the freezer were covered with some sort of larvae and larval cases. IT WAS REALLY, REALLY GROSS. there were HUNDREDS of them, all over the bacon package and the shelves and everything. then it turned out that chyan hadn't even bothered to open the freezer where the horror lurked so none of my roommates really knew how bad it was because h and i cleaned it out before they got home. anyways, yeah.

i'm back!

i'm back. incase some people dont know. um, call me if u guys wants to plann something.

The Comments section is not enough to contain me

I sort of enjoy posting my responses on the front page, so here we go:

1) We had fans?

I'm just as shocked as you. I didn't even think you guys read the strips when I posted.

2) Did someone just say we were brilliant?

People say that all the time to me, but for you, I admit, it must be disconcerting.

3) how the f*** did this guy find me?

I really don't remember if we used our full, real names. I am actually of the opinion this is an elaborate hoax.

6) Should mike, chris, and I consider trying an absvalue style thing again?

Absolutely.

I'd love to create the backend for a comics hosting website. I remember the last time, we were hosted through ITCC. They did an admirable job, but it'd be a lot of fun to do a little PHP/MySQL project by myself this time.

Oh yeah, I guess we'd have to write and draw the comics too. Funny, I never understood why, of all of us, I was the guy to spearhead a comic project. I was always a mediocre artist and joke-writer. That being said, if you throw me jokes, say, three times a week, it'd be a lot of fun to draw them. Time to break out those old templates....

-chris "also afraid to post his last name" ... ya...p? (that'll fool 'em)

i cant decide whether this is real or if one of you guys put someone up to this...

i go this message of facebook:

Hey, I might have the wrong guy, but were you one of the writers of that webcomic Absolute Value? I was a pretty regular fan and kinda sad to see it go down, but I was wondering if there was some way to get my hands on the old strips. Absolutely brilliant stuff if you ask me. Anyways, sorry for wasting your time if you're the wrong guy

this makes me ask a few questions.

1) We had fans?
2) Did someone just say we were brilliant?
3) how the f*** did this guy find me?
4) Is my life in danger now?
5) IS there a way to see the archives?
6) Should mike, chris, and I consider trying an absvalue style thing again?
7) When he said "absolutely brilliant" did he intend the pun or not?
8) Which is worse, intending it or not realizing he'd done it?
9) we had fans?
10) How would he have found out about absolute value, its not like we advertised
11) O god, this guy isn`t "fusia" from the forums is he? I always assumed that was a chick...
12) how the F*** did this guy find me.

yeah anyway. if anyone has the answers to any of these questions lemme know. i think it would be sorta amusing to start up an absvalue style thing again. of course im not willing to draw it so unless one of the many artists among us does, its not going to happen. seriously though, which one of you guys put this kid up to this? o yeah, i wouldnt mind having access to the archives either and i told him id look into it, so CHRIS, im assuming you would be the one to have such a thing, is there a way to access the archives?

-Jason (still blown away by the concept of a fan, and now afraid to put his last name on the internet) *******
