Wii and ps3

yep, some of you guys know, i got both the wii and ps3. This is what happened. on Wednesday i went to Mindy's house, and apparently Matt Richardson has a Wii. so we got him over and played the Wii. after that i was convinced that i must get a Wii. So on black Friday i manage to drag Thomas, Jim, and Kevin with me to wait for the Wii. i thought arriving 7 hours before the store opens was reasonable enough, and it was, i was the 6th person in line. (which makes thomas 7th) after waiting 7 hours in the freezing wind and swearing to slap Nicky (irving's brother who works at that eb games store) if i dont get a Wii. anyway, the store owner finally showed up. he opened the gate, went through the door, and locked the door. everyone was staring at him, but he didnt say anything. after waiting for another 15 mins he came back out, said "we only have 5 wii and 2 ps3" in a very quiet yet annoyed, and then signaled us to get in. because there is only a limit on 1 consol per costumer, that’s how i ended up getting a ps3. when we were walking out, irving and nicky were out side. taunting me to slap nicky around, but i ended up getting pissed and went home. on the same day, after being rescued by DZ, thomas, and nick from a family dinner party, i over heard them saying they are going to goto Best Buy to camp out for the wii. once again tempted by the idea of owning a Wii i signed up for it. Saturday, night arriving at 9:30 pm (1:30 mins before closing time) with 2 sleeping bags, one blanket, and a full set of sky gear i thought we were going to be the first one. but number 8 and 9 from friday got there 10 mins before i did. so i ended up being 4th (nick got there god knows when..) after waiting inline for almost 13 hours i finally got a Wii.

i was going to show you our group picture of Nick, David, Thomas, Nolen, and me but first i have to figure out how to get my picture out of my phone.

thanx to Kevin for driving some of us around, Jim and kevin again for waiting with us the first night, and stacy for bringing us food for the 2nd night.

long story short, i got a PS3 and a Wii

i know some... most of the grammar doesnt make sense, but just bare with it.

i think i'm got frostbite on my nose...

in another story, trying to explain to my mom why i have to wait in line over night the first time was hard, explaining to her the 2nd time was even harder. and the fact that she thinks i'm talking about weed half the time didnt really help.

how 'bout that vacation, huh?

unfortunately for me, thanksgiving break is over and i'm back for my last week of classes, and then finals...plus the slowly dawning realization that i have tests tues-thurs, and paper friday T_T. break was fun, though--i know that some of you are a few hundred dollars poorer, but one wii richer. i almost wish i had stayed the whole time. almost. but it was cold.
not too much in the way of shenanigans over the weekend, though. mostly sat around and tried to recover from the trauma of school year. any word on road trip over winter break?

The Red Threat

http://brocx.net/images/hamsters/WinterWhiteBobWhite.jpg

Siberian hamsters are awesome! But beware: the Soviets have infiltrated our homes and pet stores.

( Siberian hamsters are also apparently capable of drastically altering their metabolisms, so isolating the "hamster gene" is the holy grail of dieting O_o )

"The first laboratory colony was formed in Leningrad from a group of hamsters captured in Tuva, Mongolia. Later one female and two males were sent from Leningrad to the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Oncology in Moscow. Soon afterwards the offspring of these hamsters were exported to laboratories all over Europe. The capitalists in these countries soon saw the potential for profit in these cute little 'pocket pets' and now they are the most common dwarf hamster in pet stores around the globe!"

this week

so my dad came this week, he arrived at 9:30 at night. the first thing he did was asked me if i have beer, the 2nd thing he did was to buy beer for me. this week is weird, my dad came and left and stayed for about 20 hours each visit. yeah, he came and left 2 times this week. do u know how many fricking time i had to drive to the air port? no, not burbank (for those of us who doesn't live in LA, burbank is like 15 mins from my house) but LAX !(45 mins with out traffic and 1hour and 30 mins with.) anyway, he repaid me with food and i guess thats good.
oh and i manage to finish all my drawings this week even with my dad over. and i manage to learn all the muscles on a human head.

my life is ridiculous

life update (am i the only one who wants to do this? you all should post life updates too):

in a nutshell, i'm completely swamped and ready to collapse. as if being super busy with school and fencing weren't bad enough, the living situation is driving me insane. small apartment + 2 roommates that never leave + need for privacy/decompression time + super super wimpy roommate = exploding brain.

so, a couple of you have heard me explain this, but our new roommate this year is, among other things, a nice and extremely, extremely wimpy person. i'm talking things like she made me cut her bagels because she's afraid of knives. also, sometimes it seems like she's living in her own universe...

case in point:
a very close family friend of mine just passed away a little more than a week ago. a few days before he died, i was having a phone conversation with my mom during which she explained that he was doing very badly, suffering, and all the relatives had be called in from taiwan and the children were home from college--basically, it was going to be any day now. i got off the phone feeling completely miserable and came out of my room to do work at the kitchen table, and roommate is puttering around in kitchen. i explained to her that we had a close friend who was going to die in the near future. this is what she says:

me: "I just found out that a very close family friend who's been fighting cancer is suddenly doing very badly, and it looks like he's going to die within the next couple of days, so I'm pretty upset right now."

roommate: "Well, if it makes you feel any better... my dad needs to have his testicles drained."

at the time, i wanted to throttle her, but in hindsight it's actually pretty funny. in a sad way. i have lots more stories...seriously, i could rant for hours. also, i meant to post the story of the strange middle-aged black man at starbucks who said to me, among other things, "If this were a long time ago, I could go to Taiwan and buy you from your father" but it's kind of a long story. maybe sometime soon.
